Here we are, me minus my head wrap, in front of the SIM compound church / community center. My dress was handmade by a local tailor -- for $6!

Welcome to the White House blog! I'm so proud of myself for learning how to do this! Disclaimer: I will tend to blog when I've had coffee so please, if I begin to ramble, just smile and nod knowing that it's just Carrie under the influence of caffeine.

I think the whole family looks wonderful. I never realized just how much Joel looks like Ben and the other 2 look like you Carrie. I think you are beautiful
love auntie deb
Julie and I soooo enjoy reading your wonderful tales each day. They are often the topic of our discussions each evening. Carrie and Ben, you are an inspiration to us all. God bless.

I got your blog via Vonda. I'm in awe, not so much from Ben, but from you Carrie! I find it frustrating to "follow" my husband's leading here in the American life, but what you're doing.....Wow! We have similar personalities, so I'm "gettin ya".
Lizards, goats, sweat (it's good for you....it's detoxing!), red dust and bleach? With my type A personality (yes, I subscribe to Martha Stewart's Living) I would have a nervous breakdown...no chance of getting some Prozac over there? I'm eating up the medical stuff. I feel guilty throwing away a suture I drop on the OR floor knowing how little others have.
As I think back to our evening (food and fireworks, Happy 4th), I can't help but feel inadequate as a mother myself. What have I been teaching my kids? What is their vision of the world as they dump their buddy barrels with our "spare" change? I am praying for you and the many things you must be going through. Especially the confirmation part. I feel like I need to experience what you are doing (even when Ben asked me years ago), but get a road block with my family.
Keep the blogs coming....I've hopped on this mid-flight, but have read every one. God Bless you for your obedience....He would rather have that, than your sacrifice.
